The grim state of greyhound racing could not be clearer with Tasracing awarding their annual ‘Leading Trainer’ award to Anthony Bullock last night.

Bullock is notorious, and is certainly no leader. Over his training life he has been embroiled in cruelty and dog-drugging scandals; he operated for a decade with no kennel licence and Bullock dogs are frequently injured or killed on Tasmanian tracks.

The most recent greyhound death out of his miserable kennels was that of ‘Pretty Law’ – killed because she was suffering from a chronic skin condition. You can only imagine how sad that young dog’s life must have been.

Anthony Bullock is also a mate of disgraced harness trainer, Ben Yole. Yole’s expendable horses have been fed Bullock’s to greyhounds, and probably still are.

In the racing industries, cruelty is rewarded.

Tasracing celebrating Anthony Bullock tells you everything you need to know about the greyhound racing industry, and it’s got nothing to do with animal justice.
