July 31, 2026
Following feedback from some stakeholder organisations, the Tasmanian Greens will be extending public consultation on our legislation to ban conversion practices.
The deadline for public submissions for the bill was originally set to be 31 July. However, a small number of organisations have been in contact to request extensions. Based on this feedback we will be extending the submission timeline for an additional two weeks. The new deadline is 14 August.
This decision recognises the importance of this legislation, as well as understanding the challenges for community organisations with limited resources.
The Greens are committed to working with stakeholders, parliamentarians, and the wider community to ensure this legislation, and the process supporting it, is as constructive and collaborative as possible.
