The Greens are pleased to open our free community pantry in Launceston. With the cost of living crisis hitting Tasmanians hard, we hope our community pantry can help ease the burden.

Everyone should be able to afford the basic necessities. But in this cost of living crisis, the price of groceries, bills and housing just keeps going up. People are struggling to keep their heads above water.

While the Greens will continue to advocate for more government action to ease the cost of living pressures, we also want to help the community through this difficult time with direct action. It’s why the Greens are opening a community pantry in Launceston.

The community pantry is open at Cecily Rosol MP’s electorate office at 8 Willis St, Launceston, during business hours. It’s open to all community members to take what they need, and give what they can.

The community pantry follows the model that has been successfully running in Senator Nick McKim’s office in Hobart for over a year. Feedback about the pantry has been overwhelmingly positive from community members struggling with the cost of living.
