The Greens stand in solidarity with workers at Liberty Bell Bay, following news they will be laid off at the end of next week unless they take leave without pay.
Workers, their families and the local community have already endured months of uncertainty over the future of the GFG Alliance company. They’ve been placed in a really stressful situation by the company.
Today will be a hard one for workers, being asked to make a really difficult decision about their future. We support them in doing what’s best for themselves and their families.
We call on the Liberal Government to work with their federal counterparts to do whatever they can to support workers during this hard time.
