The Liberals’ newly released pokies policies are nothing more than a sham.
Last week the government announced new measures they said would reduce the harm caused by poker machines. Now it’s been revealed they don’t yet have the technology to deliver these measures – and can’t even say when they will.
The Liberals made this announcement to pretend they care about pokies harm. But they don’t even care enough to do a good job of pretending.
What’s even more troubling is that in their efforts to concoct a pokies policy that sounds good on paper, the government have come up with something that experts say may make things even worse. It’s shocking.
The Premier should be embarrassed about this whole schemozzle. He needs to stop protecting industry profits and recommit to the policy that will make a real difference – a mandatory loss limit card.
