Mr BAYLEY (Clark) – Honourable Speaker, just quickly, I note the appropriation bill and its contents. I want to put on the record the Greens’ concerns around the funding allocations in here for the House and the needs of the House. We have seen correspondence from staff in relation to meal allocations and other issues that are being compromised, let’s call it, and we know that the expansion of the House has put increased demand on a whole raft of different services in this place.

So, just to put on record our concerns that the House and the business and function of this House is adequately funded. We have our doubts that this appropriation bill actually delivers that and we call on the government, in its May bill, to ensure that the needs of the House and the needs of the members of both Chambers in this place are met through the provision of adequate services for the staff in this place.
