Judicial Commissions Bill 2024
Honourable Speaker, I indicate that this is a bill which falls into Cassy O'Connor MLC, member for Hobart's portfolio, so I am taking carriage of this through the House on her behalf. It is the intention of the Greens to support this bill, but we have a lot of questions and some amendments which we have flagged and circulated to members.

Forestry (Miscellaneous Amendments) Bill 2024
Mr President, while we acknowledge that this bill is, in part, administrative and tidying up in nature, we do not support it. The Greens do not support this bill because it has the potential to increase habitat loss and fragmentation across our forest landscape. Also, it disempowers regional communities.

Evidence (Children and Special Witnesses) Amendment Bill 2024
Obviously, this is necessary legislation which progresses recommendation 16.11 of the commission of inquiry to clarify the operation of special measures for children and affected persons who are witnesses at trials related to child sexual abuse.
