The Spirits debacle has easily been the biggest infrastructure mess Tasmania has seen..We have already seen those hallmarks in your approach to the Macquarie Point Stadium project.

Minister, have you had advice from the Tasmanian Heritage Council on the heritage impacts of the proposed Macquarie Point Stadium, particularly on the Cenotaph and the Goods Shed?
Treasurer, $610 million in the Budget for Macquarie Point Development Corporation is a huge amount of money by any measure for an average Tasmanian. $800 million plus for the stadium likewise is also huge. It's huge in everyone's minds. I appreciate you're not the relevant minister overseeing the Macquarie Point Development Corporation, but you are the Treasurer. You would be sitting on the Cabinet subcommittee that oversees the spend.
There's $610 million in the budget for the Macquarie Point Urban Renewal project. We already know, as we've discussed here, that stage one of the project, the stadium and a few other bits and pieces is going to cost well over $800 million according to documents and then there's significant other bits unfunded. Stage 2 and stage 3 are critically important. These are the bits that the federal government's $240 million hangs off. We must meet a housing component and we must upgrade wharf 6.
Thank you, Madam Chair. With respect, the stadium is relevant to this output, and I'm going to ask questions about the stadium. Premier, who owns the Macquarie Point Development Corporation and Stadiums Tasmania?
It seems like there is not a great deal of detail about the Macquarie Wharf upgrades, but given the proposed major works in the vicinity and competing projects, how will you prioritise this upgrade given the Antarctic gateway status is very important to Hobart and the state, and it's worth $183 million across the whole spectrum of the economy?
Minister, the MacPoint precinct plan has a residential development zone, as we all know, at Regatta Point and the development and the $240 million from the federal government that's not GST exempt is actually conditional on building affordable homes on the site. The precinct plan is clear on the fact that the housing there would be a mixture of Homes Tasmania and Health department affordable housing for health workers and apartments for release on the market. Can you confirm if any of the $240 million from the federal money has been set aside to invest in this residential development?
Premier, we understand your office contacted the Macquarie Point Development Corporation (MPDC) ahead of the release of the concert of your vanity project: the stadium. Is it true that your office asked the MPDC to change the musician depicted in the promotion because she looked too much like Taylor Swift?
Honourable Speaker, I rise again to speak about the Mac Point Stadium, now that it has gone to be considered as a project of state significance. We have heard that impassioned discussion around football and why there is no need for a stadium, how disadvantaged the north‑west is from the member, Mr Garland.
Honourable Speaker, I thank the member for bringing this forward. It is a great opportunity to talk about this project and the fact that it is built on utter deceit and delusion. Let me start by reading into the Hansard the Premier's comments in August 2022 and an article that is still on the AFL website.
