The address stands out as a low point in my time in parliament to date. What a disappointing speech by the Premier.
The state of the state address is like a report card of how well the government is travelling. I will start by posing the question: what are the hallmarks of good government?
Honourable Speaker, this is my first state of the state speech that I have been here for and my first time replying. I am underwhelmed.
Where was the gracious acknowledgement of our teachers, our firefighters, our police and other public servants? Where was the vision for the future?
When we arrived back here yesterday, it felt like we had never left this place for the summer break. .. That all changed with the Premier's speech.
I thank the Jacqui Lambie Network for bringing this on today. It is interesting to reflect on what leadership means. I will talk from the perspective of the Leader of the Tasmanian Greens.
On behalf of the Greens, I pay my respects to the Tasmanian Aboriginal people and elders present here today.
The hallmark of this Government has been broken promises, but the Greens are especially here on behalf of the LGBTIQA+ community today.
Mr Winter had a lot to say about the Greens, and how clutching and confused he sounded.
