The Greens welcome news the state and federal governments are providing $5 million to continue to support workers at Liberty Bell Bay. It comes as the administrators of Liberty Bell Bay enter into negotiations with a preferred bidder.
This has been such a hard time for workers, their families, and the local community. The months of uncertainty they’ve faced have been incredibly stressful. The Greens continue to stand with them.
It’s great to hear a preferred bidder has been selected for Liberty Bell Bay, and that the state and federal governments are providing additional funding to support workers. We hope this means some relief for workers is on the horizon.
While the state and federal governments’ funding is welcome, it is time limited. We urge the Liberal Government to continue to work with the Federal Government to provide workers and their families with the support they need.
