Dr WOODRUFF - Minister, our office was contacted by a person with a vision disability who was incredibly frustrated at being required to fill in an inaccessible form every time he accessed the Patient Transport Access Scheme. The Devonport THS staff refused to fill out the form for him and instead they directed him to travel an hour to the LGH to have the social workers complete the form. We received correspondence about this from Ms Courtney in April after we wrote to her. She said that THS was working to ensure forms were accessible and acknowledged that many existing forms of communication and information require updating.

On viewing the Patient Transport Access Scheme website, I can see that there is still a pdf which is not able to be read by reader software. The THS was made aware of this in February this year and it has still not been resolved. Do you think that is acceptable?

Mr ROCKLIFF - I will investigate those matters. When did you say who was advised?

Dr WOODRUFF - We wrote to Ms Courtney in February this year and received a response in April. I understand that all that needs to happen is that there must be a Word document version instead of a pdf. That is simply all it is and it has not been fixed up.

Mr ROCKLIFF - I will investigate that matter on behalf of the people I represent in terms of this portfolio and see how we can address that very quickly if that is still the case.

Dr WOODRUFF - Thank you.
