Ms O’CONNOR question to MINISTER for INFRASTRUCURE, Mr VINCENT
At Estimates, the Premier told us the new infrastructure for the Bruny Island ferry terminal would be operational in October. It is currently two‑and‑a‑half years late and the costs have more than doubled. As part of the contract with SeaLink to build the new terminal infrastructure, a long‑promised booking system was to be up and running. It is now mid‑November and Bruny residents and businesses have not been advised how this new booking system will operate, and the new infrastructure is still undergoing testing.
Has the booking system been scrapped? Will you guarantee the new terminal infrastructure is operational and signed over to SeaLink ASAP, as the Premier said it would?
ANSWER
Mr President, I was starting to get nervous that I knew nothing about this project. I am glad I consulted, because I have now been informed that it is the Minister for Transport, not my ministry.
Ms O’Connor – Okay. Apologies.
