The 2024‑25 state budget is currently under development for delivery in September. I note the Premier has refused to rule out efficiency cuts to services. Does that include our schools? Are you as minister involved in discussions with your agency and your ministerial colleagues that will deliver cuts to the education budget or can you today rule that out?

Mr President, I will seek some advice. Yes, I can confirm there will be no cuts to schools.

Can the minister please outline to Council the proportionate spend of the global school funding budget in 2023‑24 which was allocated each to private, independent and faith-based schools and public schools between K to 12?
What is the breakdown of public funding per student in each of these categories during the current budget period, including any allocations provided for a request for additional funding and or supplementary appropriation bills?
