Ms O’CONNOR question to MINISTER for HOUSING, Mr VINCENT, referred to LEADER for the GOVERNMENT in the LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL, Ms RATTRAY
I believe there is an answer to a question I put on notice that the Leader for the government can provide. Can the government detail to the Council how many social housing homes and how many affordable homes, Homes Tasmania has been primarily responsible for delivering since it came into being on 1 December 2022?
ANSWER
Mr President, again, on behalf of the Minister for Housing and Planning, Mr Vincent, the answer is from Holmes Tasmania’s inception in 2022 through to 18 November 2025, Homes Tasmania advises it has built 480 homes. This consists of 235 social housing properties, 140 supported accommodations and 105 homeless accommodations.
Homes Tasmania has also assisted community housing providers with the delivery of an additional 886 properties. Of these, 815 are social housing, 3 supported accommodations and 62 affordable housing and six homeless accommodations.
