Ms O’CONNOR question to MINISTER for INFRASTRUCURE, Mr VINCENT
My question is also to the busy Minister for Infrastructure today and again it is about the Longford Fuel Depot. I ask this question, minister on behalf of the Greens Member for Lyons Tabatha Badger relating to the Access Permit at 26A Tannery Rd, Longford. The Northern Midlands Council Mayor has written to government requesting the Department of State Growth withdraw the driveway crossing permit and we have discussed this before in here, but you have advised that the Department of State Growth says there are no grounds to revoke the Works Permit, which is somewhat surprising given the level of community concern about the permit and the development itself.
Minister, can you please confirm for the community and the council, it is a bit of a yes or no answer, but feel free to elaborate. Do you or the Planning minister have the power to rescind the State Growth issued permit or is this wholly in the hands of the council that issued the DA and could appeal the TASCAT decision?
ANSWER
I shall seek some advice. At Sorrell, I had control of some things but not that, so I will seek some advice first.
I have no power to do that or overturn a TASCAT decision as per the decision that has been made. Thank you.
