Ms O’CONNOR – Thank you, minister.
Do you know what the reason is for the intensive helicopter activity in the vicinity of Lake Dora in the Tyndall conservation area, that saw helicopters carting large amounts of material in and out on Sunday 23 April this year?
Mr JAENSCH – Sunday 23 April? I’m happy for Mr Jacobi to answer that.
Mr JACOBI – I’m not aware of any Parks activities that were conducted in the Tyndalls at that time. There has, however, been some mineral exploration work being performed to the immediate east of the Tyndalls, I think it’s on the Spicer Track. It’s quite possible that mineral exploration work involved mapping but also possibly demobilisation but I don’t –
Ms O’CONNOR – Taking materials out of a conservation area?
Mr JACOBI – They do map work: they do seismic mapping from the base of the helicopter. I would be speculating, but that is the only activity that I can think in that area that might have involved helicopter work.
